ס׳זענען מיינע חלומות אַזוי פון מיט בענקשאַפט

 אַז  ס׳שמעקט אַיעדן אינדערפרי

מיין לייב מיט דיר —

און סיטריקט צו פּאַמעלעך אויף מיין ציינפאַרקלעמטער ליפּ

דער איינציקער סימן פון דערשטיקטן טרויער,

אַ טראָפּן בלוט.

און ס׳גיסן שוין איבער די שעה׳ען, ווי כּוסות,

איינע אין דער צווייטער,

די האָפנונג, ווי טייערן וויין —

אַז דו ביסט נישט ווייט,

אַז אָט, אַ יעדע רגע

קענסטו קומען, קומען, קומען.

My dreams are so full of longing

that every morning

my body smells of you —

and on my bitten lip there slowly dries

the only sign of suffering,

a speck of blood.

And the hours like goblets pour hope,

one into the other,

like expensive wine:

that you're not far away,

that now, at any moment

you may come, come, come.
